Steven B. Feinstein
Professor of Medicine
Dr. Feinstein is one of the world’s leading experts in contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and invented the first two FDA-approved ultrasound contrast agents. His early research focused on the use of CEUS for cardiac imaging, and expanded to include CEUS assessment of carotid plaque and vasa vasorum. Dr. Feinstein also is developing therapeutic applications for CEUS that use ultrasound contrast agents for site specific delivery of genes and drugs. Dr. Feinstein is an NIH supported researcher and has authored more than 330 publications including scientific articles, subject reviews and chapters. He also is a frequent international lecturer. Dr. Feinstein is Co-President of the International Contrast Ultrasound Society (ICUS) and serves as Program Director of the annual international “bubble conference” in Chicago. Dr. Feinstein remains strongly committed to the practice of preventive cardiology and early diagnosis of cardiac abnormalities, and translational research.
